Grand Bahamas, Freeport, Port Lucaya Markelplace

Port Lucaya Marketplace is the dining, shopping, and entertainment hub of Grand Bahama.

34 international restaurants and bars, with another 11 more right across the street at the Our Lucaya Resort, make Port Lucaya the premier dining area on the island. It is also a great place to do some shopping - over 60 stores and the largest straw market on the island combine to provide all the shopping you will need.  It is a Bahamian-style outdoor marketplace, not an indoor shopping mall, so makes for a pleasant place to be.

Count Basie Square is the centerpiece of Port Lucaya, where live bands play family-friendly music and teach Bahamian dancing on weekend nights, with additional events added as demand dictates.  The island's only casino is right across the street, and you can walk through the Our Lucaya Resort to the beach.  There is a passenger ferry service from near the Pelican Bay hotel to the Taino Beach Resort and Grand Bahama Yacht Club, and taxis are readily available.  Port Lucaya is also where you will find boat tours and sightseeing, and the main marina with it's huge yachts, and across the street at the beach you can find a full range of watersports.
