Where to get the best Oysters in Rome

Everybody agrees that Italy is the capital of gourmet dining. The Italian pasta dishes such as pizza, lasagna, spaghetti as well as rice dishes such as risotto and its variations are unrivaled in the culinary circles of the world. What most people do not know though is that Rome, the capital of Italy was the first place to experiment with oysters in Europe. Below are a few eateries where you will find the best of oysters - Italian version.

1. Aroma di Mare

As if to target the romantics with its eclectic oyster dishes, this restaurant serves food only by reservation. Amazingly, it also has a late night option for those who leave their jobs late, as well as the hungry lovers looking for delicious food to replenish their exhausted reserves. Trust me; this is a restaurant you would be proud to take your wife, or your fiancé.

2. Acquolina

If you know anything about the Italian gastronomy, you would already have heard about Chef Giulio Terrinoni. His is an art that cannot be attained by books education - it is a talent. His seafood dishes are legendary, more so, the oyster dishes he prepares for the patrons of Acquolina at the heart of the city. If you are looking for oyster culinary exploits never heard of before, sample them at the Acquolina.

3. F.I.S.H

Located in the Monti locality, this restaurant divides its menu into appetizers, tapas, Oriental, and Mediterranean. Amazingly, the seating is also divided into front aqua lounge, a bar for tapas and aperitivo, and the back dining room. Depending on the purpose of your meal at the restaurant, you are advised to book accordingly. The oyster dishes will be divided into the four categories of the menu mentioned before.

4. La Pallacorda

If you have been in search of a nice eatery to take your hot dinner date, make a reservation at La Pallacorda. The restaurant never fails to amaze its guest in terms of carefully prepared dishes as well as comfortable sitting arrangement. If you want formal and businesslike or suggestive and romantic, the restaurant staff are going to make it happen. The oysters served in this restaurant are fresh from the Italian oyster farmers.

5. Tuna

Located on Via Veneto just off Piazza Barberini, Tuna is an all-white interior restaurant that serves the best oysters in Italy. The selection of oysters served here includes; Bélons, Marie Morgans, Speciales d’Utah Beaches and Royale d'Isigny. I bet you will not find any other selection as complete as this in Rome.

So you see, the Italians have it all - at least until someone invent a new dish that is too difficult for the Italians to copy and do it better than the inventor.
